Mahmoud Alnahlawi

AI Expert

A technology entrepreneur and engineer with over 20 years of experience in the field of artificial intelligence and big data. He is currently working on the newly formed Machine Learning Systems & Cloud AI group at Google, where he is focusing on building the next generation Generative AI infrastructure.

His work centers on enabling fast, efficient, safe, factual, reliable, and easy-to-use Multimodal Generative AI systems and applications. Prior to this, Mr. Alnahlawi led the Data Indexing Platform team as part of the Core Information Retrieval at Google. He built the next-gen technology that powers various search applications, including Web Search, Media Search (images and videos), and various Semi-Structured Search applications. Before Google, Mr. Alnahlawi’s career was centered around large distributed systems and big data. He worked for companies like Apple and Yahoo where he built infrastructure for flagship products like Cloud, Maps and Sponsored Search. Mr. Alnahlawi has also worked with various startups in different capacities, including SumoLogic, a cloud-based machine data analytics company focusing on security, operations, and compliance. He is a technical advisor for several up and coming high-tech companies in Silicon Valley. Mr. Alnahlawi is motivated by building cutting-edge technology and leading world-class teams. He is a strong believer in the power of AI to solve the world's most pressing problems, and is passionate about using his skills to make a positive impact on the world.

Tirto Adji

Chairman

A highly accomplished technologist and venture capitalist with over 25 years of experience in Silicon Valley. He holds a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from San Jose State University, with a background in artificial intelligence and machine learning from Stanford Math and Statistics. Additionally, he obtained an SEP from Stanford Graduate School of Business.

Omaimah Omar Bamasag

Prof

A Professor of Cybersecurity at the Department of Computer Science, Faculty of Computing and Information Technology, King Abdulaziz University, Saudi Arabia. She received her M.Sc. (with distinction) and PhD degrees in Computer Science from the School of Computer Science at University of Manchester in 2001 and 2006 respectively.

She worked at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Mechatronics Research Lab as a postdoctoral fellow from 2014-2016 and has been a visiting researcher since then. She is currently the Deputy of Transport Enablement at Transport General Authority, Riyadh. The deputyship is responsible for enabling land, rail and maritime transports with research and studies, investment opportunities, new mobility technologies, and localization and human capacity building. Prof. Omaimah has recently joined the Global Future Council on the Future of Autonomous Mobility / World Economic Forum as a member of the council representing the Kingdom. Prof. Bamasag's area of expertise is in designing security solutions and protocols for distributed applications, trust management, IoT security, intrusion detection systems, and authentication solutions both for IoT and cloud applications. She also served in the technical program committee of several international conferences and is serving as a reviewer in international journals. She has held various administrative positions at universities including Dean of Community Service and Continuous Education, Vice Dean of College of Computer Science and Engineering (both at the University of Jeddah), and Vice Dean of Faculty of Computing and Information Technology at King Abdulaziz University. She also served as the Director of the Center of Excellence in Smart Environment at King Abdulaziz University. She has also taught undergraduate courses in Information Security. She has been supervising PhD and Masters research and is a Co-Investigator in funded research projects. Currently, at the Transport General Authority, she is leading the efforts to take the transportation in the kingdom to futuristic smart and sustainable mobility. Pursuing a dream for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to be a beacon of knowledge to the world.

Mohammad Ibrahim

Was leading the project on the development of the innovation ecosystem of a Techno Valley associated with a Saudi university to support the Saudi Knowledge Economy. His role included: a- developing the policies and processes for Intellectual Property (IP) development and its protection through Patents in the United States Patent and Trademark Office

b- conducting innovation foresight and landscapes in key areas relevant to the Techno Valley innovation tracks c- developing human capabilities for innovations and inventions, and mentoring inventors especially young Saudis, entrepreneurs, and start-ups d- developing the different paths of monetisation of IPs His work led to the Techno Valley being recognised as one of the key innovation centres for patent development in Saudi in an article in Nature (https://www.nature.com/articles/549S75a) in their assessment of Saudi innovation. As a recognition of his work, he was part of the team that received 2017 HRH Prince Khalid Al-Faisal Makkah Distinguished Award for Scientific and Technical Achievements. Mohammad Ibrahim led a project of developing IP & patents in digital technology at another Techno Valley associated with a Saudi university, where he led a team that developed 37 Patents issued by USPTO, and where more than 30 of his patents have been cited by more than 30 world renowned multinationals including: IBM, Intel, The US National Security Agency; Microsoft, Nokia, Thomson, Ebay, Google, Philips, Apple, Samsung, Fujitsu, Bank of America, AT&T, Texas Instruments, Red Hat Inc., Juniper Networks, Inc., Tata, ST Microelectronics, Certicom, Inside Secure, Infineon Technologies, Ericsson, Honeywell, Siemens, Qualcomm, Telecom Italia, Mitsubishi, Adobe Systems, Thales, Altera, Elect. & Telecom. Res. Inst., Korea, NT&T, Cryptography Research, General Dynamics C4, EM Corp. (All citations can be verified through Google Patents).
